
Salsa Cubana, also known as Cuban-style Salsa, Casino-style or "de la calle" is a dynamic partner dance that originated in Cuba. The dance combines circular movements with musicality and its style emphasizes the body’s natural flow of movement. Spontaneous creativity and improvisation are encouraged and define the individual style of each dancer. Salsa Cubana is danced at social dance parties and is also the basis for Rueda.
Salsa Cubana LEVEL 2
This is an level 2 course for Salsa dancers with at least one semester prior experience. No fixed partner needed – we rotate frequently to maximize learning!
Have you started dancing Salsa and want to dive deeper into the Cuban style? Had a long break and want to start again?
Are you familiar with the basic elements like Guapea basic, Right turn (Vuelta), Dile Que No, Enchufla?
Then Salsa Cubana LEVEL 2 is the perfect place for you! In this course, we review the the basic elements like Guapea basic, Dile Que No, Enchufa and Vuelta and introduce more challenging turns like Vacila, Saccala and Coca Cola. We’ll also work on recognizing the Salsa rhythm and dancing comfortably at different speeds."
Salsa Cubana LEVEL 3
This is an level 3 course for Salsa dancers with solid prior experience. No fixed partner needed – we rotate frequently to maximize learning!
Have you been dancing Salsa for a while and want to dive deeper into the Cuban style? Are you comfortable with the rhythm and able to stay on time at different speeds? Are you confident with the basic elements like Guapea basic, Dile Que No, Enchufa, Vacila, Saccala and Coca Cola?
If yes, join this course at any time once you meet the requirements — usually after 2–3 rounds of courses.
In this course, we will focus on improving leading and following the dance. Building on the basics, we improve the execution of the core elements and integrate them into more complex figures. In addition, we explore exciting variations for a more versatile and enjoyable dance experience!
